| Celebrating over 25 years in family business, Greely Sand &Gravel Inc. is one of the most valued suppliers of landscape and construction products in the Ottawa region.
Continuing the family business, their son David climbed onboard in the ' 90s, followed by their daughter Tara in the millennium. They are following in the footsteps of their grandfather and father, focusing on product quality and service. Ottawa's residential and commercial communities have come to rely on GS&G for all their landscape and commercial needs. With the ever changing demands, GS&G continues to be innovative in creating and establishing new products and services to meet and exceed their customer’s expectations.
PRODUCTS GS&G has become a leader in designing and creating new products and services. GS&G enjoys the challenge of creating specialty products to meet job specifications and is a founder of many specialty products, including Greely’s Topdressing Soil™. The soil is designed for specific uses around the home and became the building block of GS&G's soil reputation. GS&G also specializes in Ottawa Playground Sand and Ottawa Playground Stone, both having undergone impact surface testing to ensure safe surfaces for children. GS&G’s innovation further extends to Infield Mixes, available in both red and grey colour, Rooftop Mixes, Sports Field Topdressing Soil, Commercial Screened Topsoil, Bedding Soil, Mantle Sand, Hydro Sand, and many more.
GS&G excels in supplying landscaping products to meet market demands, including natural and coloured mulches, Coloured Riverwash Stone, crushed stone, Continental Mushroom Compost, Playground Planners’ Cedar Weave (playground mulch), Mountain Grey Wall Stone, Chocolate Wall Stone, and much more. To continue creating and maintaining quality products, GS&G sends many samples to accredited labs to be tested. To ensure consistency of the material, GS&G has also developed an “in-house” lab for on-the-spot testing. Providing quality and reliable products helps strengthen the relationship GS&G has with their customers. When looking at some well-known locations within the City of Ottawa, GS&G’s products have been incorporated in the landscaping. Some locations include the US Embassy, the Governor General’s rose gardens, the NCC tulip beds, the Rideau Centre indoor planter boxes, the rooftop of the War Museum, and sports fields throughout the City of Ottawa and Eastern Ontario.
SERVICES Throughout the City of Ottawa, GS&G
has 4 locations and over 1,000 acres of pits. It has two maintenance
facilities for its equipment totaling over 10,000 square feet. GS&G owns screening plants, wheel loaders, excavators, along with trucks and trailers for hauling. Greely maintains an updated fleet for cost effective production and service. An innovative idea allowed GS&G to design Mini Roll-off Containers which allow the customer to get two products delivered at the same time and rent the container for excavation and/or leaf and yard waste clean-up. Customers are able to save money and time. Also available are specially designed tandem and triaxle dump trucks equipped with dividers. This allows for customers to receive two larger quantities of products at one time, and save money. Yet another innovative idea! Two Landscape Depots provide the customer with all the necessary products to get their projects completed. Small quantities are easily loaded on trucks and trailers with a small one cubic yard bucket. Come discover Greely’s Landscape Depot.
GS&G's mature compost passes the
Canadian Council of Ministers of the Environment (CCME) standards for
Category A compost. This allows them to blend their
reliable Category A compost with other materials to create unique products,
returning compost to the environment.
